This is the first picture that I took with him, when I was up on the rock, he was amazing!! |
I met Richard in August of 2002, it was august 8th to be exact. It was a charity concert
he was doing in PA. I arrived there four hours before he came on and got front row seats!!! Ok to begin, OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was the best concert ever, and I mean it was awesome, he sang for almost 2hrs. On top of that i got to meet him. I took
two pics with him and got his autograph!!!! he is the sweetest man ever. Ok here is my total conversation in detail. We were
standing there waiting for him to come out of the meet and greet and come over to us and he did!!! he walked over and started
shaking hands and signing autographs, he came to me, oh my goodness, I shook his hand, he had such a strong hand shake , he said hello, and then I said hello, but that's all I could utter! So
he began to walk down the rest of the line when my mom spoke up and said, this is what she (meaning me) wanted to do for her
18th birthday, and he turned towards me and goes "oh really, when is your birthday" I smiled big
and told him, July 25th and he goes, well "Happy Birthday" and I said thanks, then he put his arm on me to take a pic, and
my friend took it. Then Richard goes, "it didn't flash, maybe it didnt take it, let's get another one (he is soooo sweet),
so I hopped down off the rock i was on and stood right by him and we took another one!!!! then he smiled and started to walk
away, and once again my mom intervened , and said "she loves you,
she listens to your music 24/7" and I was so embarrassed by this point and so I covered my face and he looks at me and goes
"no, thats great, thank you so much" and smiled again!!!! and walked away!!!!! It was awesome, I'll never forget it. The concert
was great!! He sounded magnifcent on every song. He was so funny.... he told a story about his son and what he had told the
waitress he wanted to be, he said, "I was at this restaurant with my son Lucas, you know, doing a little father son outing
and the waitress comes over to us and asks him what he wants to do when he grows up, and he said that Lucas thought long and
hard and said, "I wanna do nothin, just like my dad!!!!!" then he goes "he ain't living here no more" and he asked lucas to
come out and he did, and he gave him a kiss, and then Lucas went back in waving and Richard made fun of how he had waved,
he cracked a lot of other jokes, talked about NSYNC and how he wrote This I Promise You for them, but they aren't a real big
group, so it didn't sell many records, he also mentioned walking out the front door while Nsync had to sneak out the back
and this girl comes up and says "Hey, aren't you Richard Marx?" and he was all happy because a teenager recognized him and
he goes, "yes, yes I am." and she responds with, "My mom loves you!" Which he then said that it wasn't funny, lol, it was
the most amazing concert ever and if you ever get a chance to see him, meaning, he is doing a show nearby, you have to check
it out! You won't be disappointed!! And that was my Richard Marx encounter!!
